About the club

Roanmore GAA, in Irish Ruánmhór, is a hurling club in Waterford City, playing at Páirc Uí Mhurchú. Founded in 1970, it is one of the younger city clubs and made unusually quick progress, reaching senior hurling status within ten years of its formation.

The club's finest hour came at the end of the 1980s, when it won back to back Waterford Senior Hurling Championships in 1989 and 1990. It returned to the senior ranks in 2010 after winning the county intermediate final against Ardmore in Dungarvan.

Roanmore has supplied a steady stream of players to the Waterford senior hurling panel over the years, among them Noel Crowley and Kieran Delahunty. The club colours are white and blue.
