About the club

Colligan/Emmets is a Gaelic Athletic Association club serving Colligan, in the hills north of Dungarvan in County Waterford. The club is unusual in carrying two names at once: it is Colligan when the hurlers take the field and Emmets when the footballers do, a distinction that has been kept up rather than tidied away.

Both codes are played seriously here. The club fields two adult hurling teams and two adult football teams in the Waterford county championships each year, which is a considerable commitment for a rural parish of this size. At underage level it joins with neighbouring Kilgobinet under the name St Patrick's, and at under 21 it combines with Modeligo and Sliabh gCua/St Mary's from Touraneena to field as Comeragh Gaels.

A senior county title in either code has so far eluded the club, but there has been steady success at the other adult grades and a good record through the underage ranks. The club plays in black and amber.
