About the club

Carnew Emmets GAA is based in Carnew, in the far south of County Wicklow near the Wexford and Carlow borders. The club fields teams in both Gaelic football and hurling and is one of a small number of clubs in the country to compete at senior level in both codes.

Founded in 1886, it is among the oldest clubs in Wicklow. It began simply as Carnew, then in 1900 briefly took the name Carnew's Kruger Volunteers in honour of the Boer leader Paul Kruger, before settling on Emmets by the end of that year, after the United Irishman Robert Emmet.

The club runs teams from juvenile grades through to adult in both codes. Its colours are blue and yellow.
