Tallow

Tallow GAA, in Irish CLG Tulach an Iarainn, is based in the town of Tallow in west County Waterford, close to the Cork border. Hurling is the club's main game, and it has won the Waterford Senior Hurling Championship four times, first in 1936 and then in a strong run through the 1980s with titles in 1980, 1984 and 1985.

The club's ground, Páirc Éamonn de Paor, is named for Ned Power, the former Waterford goalkeeper and coach who taught in the local school through the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. Power played for and trained a number of Tallow teams in both codes and remained closely involved with the club until his death in November 2007.

Tallow has supplied several players to the Waterford senior hurling panel over the years, including James Murray, Aidan Kearney, Mark O'Brien and Thomas Ryan. The club plays in blue and gold.
