About the club

Smith O'Brien's is a Gaelic Athletic Association club in the parish of Killaloe, County Clare, fielding teams in hurling.

The club has a claim few can match: it won the very first Clare Senior Hurling Championship in 1887. It has since added Clare intermediate titles in 2004 and 2021.

It is named after William Smith O'Brien, the Irish nationalist MP and Young Ireland leader, who died in 1864.
